Musicians from Spilsby and Alford are set to rub shoulders with Scottish rock legends Big Country at a charity concert in Louth this spring.

Former Spilsby native Abi Moore and Alford indie/pop group Two-Step will be support acts at the concert in Louth Town Hall on Saturday, April 26.

Gig organiser Andrew Skinner said: “Myself and Louth Town Hall are honoured and delighted that such a fantastic band as Big Country have agreed to perform at this event.

“I also felt it was important that Lincolnshire’s music talent was given a platform, and I believe these local artists showcase the quality and diversity that Lincolnshire’s music scene has to offer.

“It also turns this event into a mini festival, which is a very exciting prospect,” he added.

Abi Moore is described by organisers as ‘The First Lady Of Lincolnshire’s Music Scene’, and will be performing songs from all three of her albums, including the brand new release ‘Amoeba and Stone’

Two-Step, meanwhile, have just released their debut EP ‘Priceless’ which was recorded at the famous Chapel Recording Studio at South Thoresby.

They spent 2013 playing gigs all over Lincolnshire, and are now looking to take their music further afield in 2014. Profits from the concert will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society via Lincolnshire Co-operative’s Charity of The Year.

Headline act Big Country have had 15 Top 40 hit singles, including ‘Fields Of Fire, ‘Chance’, ‘Wonderland’ the two million selling ‘In A Big Country’ and their biggest hit ‘Look Away’.

The concert will also feature one further Lincolnshire supporting act in the form of The Warbirds - a popular indie band, who have released two EPs.

Tickets for the concert are £20, and are available from Louth Town Hall and Off The Beaten Tracks record store in the town.

In other news, Big Country will also be performing at Butlin’s in Ingoldmells later in the year at The Great British Alternative Festival, which takes place between October 10 and 13.

The line-up also includes The Boomtown Rats and From The Jam, with many more to be announced.
