An unannounced inspection was carried out at Brigg’s Options Watermill House in November 2015, and a report has been released this week rating the service as outstanding overall.

Options Watermill House offers specialist care and opportunities for young people with autistic spectrum conditions, associated complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Facilities at the site include a large enclosed garden, with swings and seesaws, a hydro pool and a soft indoor activity space.

CQC deputy chief inspector for adult social care in the North, Debbie Westhead, said: “Options Watermill House has an excellent leadership team that was involved in sharing and developing best practice, it was clear people were at the heart of the
service.

“What struck us the most was how much time and effort went into adapting the service to better care for people’s changing needs, and also the support given to people’s families.

“Everyone at Options Watermill House should feel proud of the work they
do.

And Options Watermill manager Helen Horsewood said she was “ecstatic” with the latest report.

She said: “I am absolutely ecstatic that we have received an outstanding rating and I am very proud of the whole
team.

“I may be the one who makes the decisions, but it is not just me,

And Options group’s head of autism, Russell Leese, is equally thrilled.

He said: “We’re incredibly proud of the whole team at Options Watermill House and the recent CQC inspection rating.

“This is the second outstanding rating we have recently received for our services in North Lincolnshire and it is recognition for the excellent work undertaken by our staff to ensure the best outcomes possible for the young people we
