Patriotism is in bloom in Chapel St Leonards thanks to a newly decorated planter.

The Chapel St Leonards Residents’ Association has recently unveiled the planter it has chosen to sponsor on the Village Green in honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday this year.

The cost of sponsorship was £120 and the association had agreed to pay the sum as a group, until one of member – who wishes to remain anonymous – offered to pay the full amount on behalf of the association provided it arrange for the planting and maintenance for the year; this, members agreed to do.

Chapel Garden Centre, in Skegness Road, would go on to provide the red, white, and blue plants that are now on show in the planter, with its expert staff also supervising the floral arrangement.

l The association’s annual general meeting and election of committee will be held on Monday, July 25, at 2pm in The Grange, in Ancaster Avenue, Chapel St Leonards.
