Passenger suffers ‘spinal injury’ after crash

Police have released more details about the teenager who suffered serious injuries in a car crash.

The 19-year-old passenger, from Skegness, suffered serious injuries in the collision near Spilsby.

A spokesman said: “The injured man has a fractured rib and a spinal injury but it doesn’t look as though they are life changing injuries and he may not have a long stay in hospital.”

Emergency services were called to the A1115 Ashby Road shortly before 8pm yesterday (Thursday) where a blue Landrover Defender had left the road, ending up on its roof in a field.

The driver is a 20-year-old man from Ashby By Partney, who was not seriously injured, said police.

The road was reopened by 2am.
