Organisers of this year’s Partney Fair have thanked the scores of volunteers who helped ensure a ‘wonderful day’ was had by all.
Saturday’s annual show, which dates back to the Domesday Book, was attended by hundreds of visitors and helped raise just shy of the £3,000 target figure for the Partney Group of Churches.
“We were blessed with a fantastic sunny day - thank goodness,” said show organiser John Hudson.
“In addition to raising much needed funds, these events create a wonderful community spirt and it was especially great to have youngsters actually volunteering to come and do some work, car parking and generally helping in any way they could.”
Mr Hudson has thanked the Oliver family for offering their land, Brian Cott, Spilsby RBL and Alan Bugg, for the loan of marquees and each of the 85 volunteers involved with the event.
“The Big Society is alive and well in the countryside,” he said.
