Partnership set to look at flooding on town estate

Fresh concern has been sounded at the flooding problems that affect the Beacon Park residential estate in Skegness after periods of heavy rainfall.

“We can’t keep sweeping this matter under the carpet,” Coun Mark Anderson told Wednesday’s meeting of the town council.

“Something needs to be done.”

Coun Neil Cooper said the estate had been created on top of a clay pit that had been filled with rubble.

“Water can‘t get away,” he continued.

“It’s not very nice off the people who live there.”

Councillors agreed that a partnership should be set up with other authorities to seek ways to rectify the problem.
