Pair’s wedding joy on Skegness beach

A Skegness couple longed for sun, sand and sea to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives, so chose the town’s beach as the perfect setting.

John and Jane Faulkner of The Meadows, tied the knot on Saturday, August 3, surrounded by friends and family with Pastor David Middleton to conduct the ceremony.

“It was a wonderful day,” said Jane. “We chose the beach because it was something different, I think we must be one of few who have ever done it in Skegness.”

“Originally we wanted to include our pet rottweilers for the ceremony so the beach was ideal,” added Jane.

But Monty and Crystal had other ideas, as their litter of puppies arrived just weeks ago, meaning they had to stay at home with their newborns.

The couple of three years, actually confirmed their wedding during a registry service at The Storehouse, the first one to be held there.

But the couple said their meaningful vows and posed for pictures with their bridal party on the beach.

Jane wore a beautiful ivory gown and John a fine suit complete with a baby bloom.

The bridesmaids included John’s daughter Leeann Walters.

Best man was Andy Monk, who is actually an official Simon Cowell look-alike.

“It couldn’t have been more perfect, I wore a stunning gown and we had a brilliant time,” said Jane.

The wedding party then enjoyed a reception at The Storehouse in North Parade complete with a buffet and instead of a wedding cake, the couple opted for 66 cupcakes, enjoyed by all at the last minute.

“We would like to say a big thank you to David Middleton of The Storehouse for conducting the wedding and lending us his sports car,” added Jane.

The couple hope to enjoy a belated honeymoon to Cornwall, later in the year.
