Staff at a Skegness opticians set their sights on raising funds for a diabetes charity when they took to the streets for a sponsored walk.
The group of four from Specsavers, in Lumley Road, completed the mile-long fundraiser to Skegness Pier and back in support of Diabetes UK.
Stuart Hogg, store director at Specsavers, said: “We decided to support Diabetes UK to raise awareness of the link between diabetes and eye health.
“The charity does fantastic work to improve the lives of people with diabetes, which is a cause we can all relate to – one of our staff is diabetic and a number of us have close friends and family with the condition.”
The fundraiser was completed last weekend and, although the total is still being counted, the walk is thought to have generated more than £150, a spokesman confirmed.
Mr Hogg added: “The team did a great job on the walk and are thrilled with the support they’ve had from our loyal customers.
“Well done to Kate, Katharine, Nicolette and Greg for raising a fantastic sum of money to help such a worthy cause.”
