A rare rhea has reappeared

A FLIGHTLESS bird, not native to the UK, which was first spotted at a railway crossing two months ago, has reappeared on open farmland.

The rhea, which is a large ostrich-like bird, was reported to the police as a potential risk to trains but was never captured.

The bird, usually found in South America, has now been seen running through open farmland near Thorpe St Peter.

If anyone knows who the bird belongs to please contact the Standard on 01754 897 120.
