Swimming a mile can be a feat of endurance at any age, but nine-year-old Kyle-Ben Appleton took up the challenge to help others in need.
Halton Holegate Primary School pupil Kyle-Ben set himself the goal to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Completing the 64 lenghts of the Embassy Swimming Pool in just over an hour, Kyle- Ben was rewarded for his efforts by raising £391.76 for the charity.
Kyle-Ben, who attends New Life Community Church in Spilsby, decided to do something to help people suffering with cancer.
Mum Karen said: “A big thank you to all who kindly sponsored Kyle-Ben and gave him encouragement, enabling him to achieve his goal.”
Macmillan fundraising manager for the Lincolnshire Coast Jamie Davenport said: “It is always great to see young people involved in fundraising, and this is no exception.”
He added: “Kyle-Ben’s challenge is really inspiring and has impressed me no end.
“I would like to thank him for raising such a fantastic amount for people affected by cancer.”
