New Stagecoach depot means Skegness services can grow

Monday, 1.54pm - STAGECOACH bus company has the opportunity to extend its services and take on more staff now its new depot has opened in Burgh Road, Skegness, today.

The 2.2 million, purpose-built depot opened on Monday and managing director of Stagecoach East Midlands Gary Nolan said: "We just out grew where we were and the new depot is big enough to take more growth, but we have nothing planned at the moment.

"It gives us the chance to build more opportunity to grow our services in Skegness."

More than 2.5 million journeys take place each year in the Skegness area and Stagecoach believes there is scope to increase these services in the coming years.

The new garage will hold up to 50 buses and provide modern facilities for 100 staff. The building is environmentally friendly and fitted with top quality maintenance equipment.

The old premises in Grosvenor Road only allowed 35 buses to run. This garage is now under sale.

An official launch of the new depot will be organised later in the year.
