Boston and Skegness MP Matt Warman has vowed to deliver ‘the best Brexit for Boston and Skegness’ as he announces to public meetings to discuss the UK’s negotiations with the EU.
Mr Warman says the meetings, to be held in Boston on July 22 and Skegness on August 3 – shortly after the Parliamentary session that will shape the team leading the negotiations, will ‘give residents the opportunity to hear more about the process for leaving the EU, and the implications of Brexit for the local area and the country more widely’.
He said he will’ make sure local views are taken into account at the very highest level of government’.
Matt said, “The British electorate have been clear that they want to leave the EU, and the Government must now make sure that it gets the best possible exit deal, and that this is reached quickly.
“I am determined that that deal delivers the best both locally and nationally, and I have already pressed the Prime Minister on the floor of the House of Commons on the need for a new immigration policy as well as increased local spending to support public services, like schools and hospitals, which have been under pressure from increased population numbers.
“I know that there will be people on both sides of the referendum argument who want to know what leaving will mean for them, their families and the wider community. I would certainly encourage anybody with queries to come along to discuss them.”
Anybody living in the constituency is invited to attend the meetings which will be as follows:
- Friday, July 22, 5.30-7pm – Review Bar, Blackfriars Theatre, Spain Lane, Boston PE21 6HP.
- Wednesday, August 3, 5.30-7pm – County Hotel, North Parade, Skegness PE25 2UB
