A breathtaking act performed in mid-air by dancers suspended from the roof of Skegness Embassy Theatre has been added to the SO Festival programme.
Festival-goers will have the chance to see this one-off performance from Grand Parade on Sunday (July 5) at 6pm.
Complete with live drumming on the roof and spectacular mid-air acrobatics, the performers twist, turn and spin in harnesses acting out for the audience below. The show features performers abseiling down the theatre and flying by a crane for a dramatic finale.
Jennifer Paterson, artistic director for All or Nothing said the group cannot wait to be part of the outdoor festival in Skegness.
“We’re really looking forward to bringing this performance to Skegness, she explained.
“We have been commissioned to choreograph a one-off performance depicting the best of British beach holidays from the 1930s and 40s, in keeping with the festival’s theme of traditional entertainment.
“All or Nothing specialises in aerial dance theatre, but we’ve never had the chance to perform at such a well-known seaside resort - we are really excited about coming to Skegness for SO Festival.”
All or Nothing is also performing Sprawl at 1.30pm and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday at Skegness Tower Gardens. Sprawl is a dynamic dance theatre duet featuring acrobatics for all ages to enjoy.
Festival director, Lorna Fulton said she was delighted All or Nothing were bringing what they do best - aerial dance theatre - to the festival.
She added: “All or Nothing is performing twice during the festival and I’m particularly excited about the act taking place on the Skegness Embassy Theatre. The programme is full of unusual acts, but this is really something that festival goers won’t want to miss.
“Featuring audience participation, live drumming and daring moves that will take your breath away – the performance titled What a Picture will be something that visitors will remember for a long time to come.”
All or Nothing is an aerial dance group from Scotland that has been running since 2006 and they were involved in the artistic programme of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
