One husband might be feeling a bit chilly next weekend after he has his beard and hair totally sheared to raise money for charity.
Mick Forman, who says he has enjoyed growing his ‘last long beard for a while’ will be having it shaved at a charity event next Saturday, October 5, at The Red Lion pub in Burgh Le Marsh.
“He decided to do it because I have had cancer twice and two friends have had breast and throat cancer,” said Carol Forman, Mick’s wife.
The pair set an initial target of £300 to donate to Cancer Research but have already collected £100, so are keen to raise a little more on the night.
“We’ve already raised £100, and we’re hoping the raffle does well on the night as well as further donations,” added Carol.
Mick’s silvery mane and beard will be shorn off by hairdresser Julie from Vanity Hair Beauty of Burgh Le Marsh about 10pm next Saturday.
There will also be live music from local group Them 2 Ladz and a great raffle from 8.30pm until late.
Carol was diagnosed with a rare cancer over ten years ago and more recently but is hopeful they can raise as much as they can for research.
“I’m really proud of him because he is raising for a great cause,” added Carol.
“I would also like to thank everyone who has donated prizes and for their support,” she added.
