Mayoral appeal approaches £12,000 mark

A mayoral appeal for an end of life hospice is approaching £12,000 after a series of successful fundraisers and generous donations.

The Mayor of Skegness Coun Mark Anderson has expressed his gratitude to the local community for helping him reach the momentous milestone in aid of the Butterfly Hospice Trust.

Speaking at last Wednesday’s council meeting he said: “I cannot believe how the community has responded to my mayoral appeal - thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming to support me in my mayoral year.”

A charity cycling team, which recently raised £7,000 with a Nottingham to Skegness sponsored bike ride, has also agreed to donate £500 to Coun Anderson’s appeal, which will bring the total past the £12,000 mark.
