Father of two, John Boden of Mansfield will walk with friends and relatives raising money for the cause after wife Debbie was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 31, last year.

“After finding a lump, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and our lives were turned upside down. Throughout Debbie’s diagnosis I felt completely useless to watch someone you love have to take such intense treatment as chemotherapy”, said John.

“So, with the help of Debbie and very close friends, all being touched by cancer themselves, in one way or another, we set up a charity called ‘walk of life’ with cancer research Uk, a men only walk from mansfield to Skegness on May 29-31.”

He added: “I can’t take away the cancer or helplessness I feel during the chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery Debbie has had to under take and still may have to undertake; in hopes that the cancer will be gone, but what I hope to do is help bring the day closer when all cancers are cured by raising money to raise awareness and vital research.”

The group have raised £463 so far.
