An Ingoldmells man who subjected three young girls to sexual abuse a number of years ago has been jailed for 12 years.
Gary Skinner, 45, of Simpson Court, was found guilty at Leicester Crown Court of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 and five counts of assault by touching on a girl under the age of 13.
He was sentenced on Friday to a total of 12 years in prison.
The conviction follows an eight day trial where the court heard how Skinner sexually abused three young girls in Leicester between 1998 and 2009.
Det Con Charlotte Wright of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU) investigated the case.
She said: “I would like to applaud the victims bravery in coming forward and reporting crimes which took place many years ago, their courage has now led to a man being convicted and facing a considerable amount of time in jail.
“I hope this result helps the victims move forward in their lives and put the events of those years behind them.
“We would always encourage anyone who has been a victim of such crimes to report it to us, no matter when the offences took place. Specialist officers in the CAIU team can help and support you through the initial stages through to the legal proceedings.”
