Skegness-based photographer Lora Hawkins has snapped up an award in a national photography competition.
Lora was a runner-up in the competition run by Skipton Building Society which searched for amateur photographers who could capture the spirit of community groups awarded funding from its Grassroots Giving Scheme.
Hundreds of entries were received nationwide, showcasing the winning groups and their fantastic contribution to work being carried out in communities throughout the UK.
Lora, whose entry was taken at Willow Farm Pony Club in Skegness, was said to have captured the essence of the community group.
Her entry has been featured on Skipton Building Society’s websites and throughout their various social media channels.
Lora said: “I really enjoyed the whole process and getting to know members of my local community. Willow Farm Pony Club is run by volunteers and their good work is well known in our local area. I’m delighted that my photograph was chosen as a runner-up as it will showcase the positive attributes that this and many other community groups have in Skegness.”
Willow Farm Pony Club is a linked centre with Willow Farm Riding School. Membership is open to everyone aged between four and 25.
They believe that the care of the ponies is as important as riding. Members work on badges during weekly sessions, rallies and their annual camp.
