A ‘listen-a-thon’ at a playgroup near Spilsby has helped raise £100 for new books.
To mark National Storytelling Week and in association with Usborne books, children at Skendleby Playgroup were sponsored by family and friends to listen to stories being read to them.
The fundraiser brought in £45 through sponsorship, but donations from local businesses enabled the playgroup to buy books worth £100 in all.
Thanks have been given to the Blacksmith’s Arms, in Skendleby, and Tongs Timeless Interiors, The Red Lion, and Bush Tyres, in Spilsby.
Manager Sharon Seymour-Smalley said: “We were very excited to take part in this project. The children have loved it and were all thrilled when we received our new books which the children had earned themselves.”
