Skegness Boating Lake is to be re-branded as ‘The Waterfront’.

A 28ft lighthouse, which is currently being built, will be its central feature.

The lighthouse will have the capacity to illuminate the lake with strobe or rotating lights.

The site will also include a coffee bar.

The workshop, housing boats, will have a New England, Dutch-barn design.

When built, visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments sat inside ‘beach chalet’ designed huts, over-looking the
lake.

New jetties, a promenade and another building will feature a ‘pop-up’ roof also feature as part of the plans, along with areas for remote controlled boats and bumper boats, plus a 10ft starfish and sandcastle design.

The site, set for completion by Spring Bank Holiday is situated next to the former Panda’s Palace indoor play area, and is owned by Brian O’Connor.
