Local charity Keith’s Rescue Dogs is on the look-out for a home for Billy.
A black terrier-cross breed, he’s around five-years-old and one of the Rescue’s long-term residents.
“He came into our care displaying defensive and very nervous behaviour,” said a spokesperson. “Three years is a long time for any dog to be in kennels but in Billy’s case it has been a time of rehabilitation, socialising and confidence building to prepare him for success in his forever home.
“Billy has really come out of his shell and is a cheeky little character who loves to run, and dig in the exercise field and playing fetch with his ball.
“There’s only one thing he loves more than playing and that is his dinner – Billy could probably do with shedding a few pounds!
“He walks well on a lead and responds to direction by the kennel staff.
“He is friendly and confident with people and other dogs that he knows but as typical of his breed could make quick work of any small furry pets!
“Billy is looking for a loving, fun family to finally give him a home – could you be his forever family?
