A NOSTALGIC step back in time to the 1940s will be take place at Northcote Heavy Horse Centre this Saturday in a bid to raise some much needed funds for the horse sanctuary.
The centre is gearing up to host its first ever dinner and dance, featuring ‘Timescape’ who will be singing songs of the stage and screen from that era.
Centre manager Terena Bolam said: “This is the first time we have hosted this type of event.
“We are taking a bit of a risk because most of our normal visitor days have been so poorly attended.
“We are in desperate need of more funds and as the centre is situated on an old WAAF camp, we thought this might interest people, hence why we are holding the 1940s event.
“We hope that people will come and support us and meet our lovely resident horses, enjoy a pie and pea dinner and then dance the night away.”
There will be a licensed bar provided by the Bell at Holton Holegate, a raffle and a prized awarded for the best 1940s outfit on the night.
Tickets need to be booked in advance by calling Terena on 07899 815960.
