Great-great-grandmother Ivy George, of Spilsby’s Eresby Hall care home, has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Reading-born Ivy retired with husband Albert to Spilsby 36 years ago to be near their daughter June and two grandchildren Kieran and James, who today lives in Canada.
Daughter June said Ivy puts her longevity down to hard work when she was younger, keeping cheerful, and having her family – which stretches to a fourth generation beyond her – nearby.
June added: “She is a tough lady and dearly loved by her family.”
Ivy was joined by family and friends last Sunday to mark her 100th birthday.
