Hoax caller said he worked for Hotpoint

A hoax caller has been reported to Skegness police who claimed he worked for Hotpoint.

PCSO Dave Bunker, of the Skegness Neighbourhood Policing Team, tweeted a warning as the call is believed to be a scam.

He zsaid: “Police have had a report today that an unsolicited phone call was received from a male purporting to be from Hotpoint. The unknown caller immediately began asking for address and post code details.

“This is believed to be scam and the phone was hung up by the recipient.

“Please remain vigilant. Never share any personal information over the phone to an unknown caller.”
