A CHARITABLE donation was made to help benefit both patients and staff at the Skegness Hospital.
The gifts were made in memory of a former patient who was cared for at the hospital in the last few weeks of his life.
The family of Arthur Alfred Moore, presented the Gloucester Ward with five cd/radio players to help make patients’ more comfortable and staff were given a new set of electronic scales at the presentation last Friday.
Joyce Moore who was married to Arthur, collected donations at his funeral instead of floral tributes, said: “I wanted to thank the staff at Skegness Hospital for the care that Arthur received and felt that a donation to the hospital on his birthday would be the best way to do this.”
Jackie Shaw, Hospital Matron for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, said: “The gifts are a lovely gesture of thanks that will not only help to create a relaxing environment for patients on the ward, but also allow us to introduce more participation in movement. We requested the electronic scales that measure fluid measurement, this equipment allows us to accurately record fluid output so we can provide and even higher standard of care.”
