Health Walks on offer in Spilsby

RESIDENTS in and around Spilsby have been urged to take advantage of free short walks in the area.

Walking is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to get involved in physical activity, and people in Spilsby can get involved.

Trained volunteer Health Walk leaders lead free short walks to include everybody regardless of ability, in a friendly and sociable environment, in and around the local town and countryside.

The Health Walk in Spilsby meets at Franklin Hall.

Sarah Ferneyhough, Physical Activity Manager at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “Health Walks are becoming increasingly popular with almost 3000 people in Lincolnshire now regularly attending walks.

“They are one of the cheapest and easiest ways to improve your health, and are a great way to meet new people and have fun.”

Health Walks are funded by NHS Lincolnshire which means that they are free to attend.

They are suitable for beginners and will be led by trained volunteers. The majority of walks are between 45 minutes and one hour and 20 minutes.
