Carers praised by LCC

Carers have been praised for braving the snow and ice to maintain visits to their vulnerable clients throughout January.

Lincolnshire’s carers completed almost 80,000 visits to the county’s 3,500 in-home service users, despite the perilous conditions.

Lincolnshire County Council’s portfolio holder for adult services said: “The difficult weather conditions during January were enough to inspire anyone to take a duvet day, whilst making it tricky for many others to get out and about.

“I’m therefore really proud that all our carers and social workers stuck so determinedly to their task of visiting the county’s residents who rely on our services in their homes.

“To maintain the service during the recent appalling weather shows the dedication in Lincolnshire to looking after our rapidly growing elderly population.”

Carers providing in home services assist with a wide range of tasks including washing, dressing, assisting with medication and meals.”
