Have a ‘raw-some’ time at library

The Lincolnshire Bookstart team have a week of special events lined-up to mark the annual celebration of UK charity Book Trust’s flagship reading programme.

As part of national Bookstart Week (June 8-14), Skegness Library will be hosting an event featuring stories, songs and rhymes, craft activities and the opportunity to meet Bookstart Bear.
This takes place from 1.30-2.30pm on Thursday, June 11.

This year’s theme is Jungle Adventures, based on Giles Andreae’s picture book Rumble in the Jungle, which will be given out to every family that attends an event.

The event is free of charge and open to all children aged up to four with their parents/carers.

Coun Patricia Bradwell, executive member for Children’s Services at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Bookstart is the ideal way to make sure they get hooked on reading early on.

“So come along and join in the fun.”
