Three friends have helped raise money for needy rescue dogs with a special fundraising afternoon.

The group of 12-year-old friends Alice, Abi and Sian decided to arrange a fundraising afternoon to help the charity Keith’s Rescue Dogs recently.

They organised games, a tombola, collected bric-a-brac, prizes and arranged refreshments at their home in Firsby earlier this month.

They promoted over the summer holidays by making posters and flyers to advertise the event to gain support from friends, family and local people.

“They chose to do this all themselves,” said mum Zoe Gilbert

“We are so proud,” she added.

The three friends raised a whopping £410 and are pictured above with two of the charity’s long term rescues Daisy and Skip when they visited to say hello and thank the girls for all their efforts.
