Greyhound Trust nets £400 boost

A CHARITY fundraiser at a Skegness supermarket has helped to raise almost £400 for the county’s needy dogs.

The Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust held a fundraising weekend at the Morrisons store recently.

And with the cash now counted, generous shop-goers have helped to raise £378 towards the charity’s vital work.

The Trust works to look after and re-home retired racing greyhounds as household pets when they have finished their racing careers.

It now has a kennel within 30 minutes of Skegness and has grown so successful that it has rehomed over 100 greyhounds so far this year alone, and almost 1000 animals since it first began.

“The money we raised in Morrisons is vital to help us help the greyhounds in our care,” said a spokesperson.

“We would also like to say a big thank you to Morrisons for their support.”
