No cycle trip round the coast of Britain would be complete without stopping off to experience the bracing delights of Skegness.

Grandmother Maggie Scorer stayed in the town after setting off on her marathon 5,000 mile trip accompanied by her dog Oscar.

The 65 year old embarked on the seven month adventure to raise money for for two charities close to her heart; Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, and SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Deaths). Oscar is travelling in style, towed by Maggie in a specially designed trailer.

Maggie and Oscar stayed at the Beeston Lodge Hotel in Drummond Road after setting off on their journey from Aldeburgh in Suffolk last month. Golden retriever Oscar enjoyed meeting the hotel owners Loraine Parker and Neville Henshaw and a frolic on the beach before hitting the road with Maggie on their whistle-stop tour.
