A MODERN art space and coffee shop is offering readers a hot drink as a way of inspiring them into visiting a stunning exhibition it has running.

The Gallery & Coffee Bar, situated within The Embassy Theatre, Skegness, recently launched its new art space and it is inviting all those who crave a little art, and a step back from the hustle and bustle of town, to pop along.

“Our vision is to make art accessible to all and by locating within the Embassy, we will expose in excess of 150,000 people a year to pieces of work they may not have ever seen the likes of before,” said Pollyanne Trapmore-Shaw for The Embassy Theatre.

“This is sure to provide a reaction and will begin to develop a dialogue of interests between artists and their viewers,” added Pollyanne.

The Embassy will be sourcing and programming regional, quality, professional artists interspersed with international and touring exhibitors.

At present, the current exhibition, which runs until the end of July, is of Swedish stencil/graffiti art by brother and sister duo Brohemia.

“They have since returned home to Sweden but created a short video of the making of their Skegness and UK inspired exhibition which is also playing in the embassy foyer,” explained Pollyanne.

The next exhibition in The Gallery & Coffee Bar’s calendar will be unveiled in August and is by artist and designer Jennifer Cottis.

“We encourage residents and visitors to share any thoughts or ideas they may have of how we can develop the area further providing a welcoming, relaxing and inspiring atmosphere in which to appreciate varying forms of art and creativity in Skegness,” added Pollyanne.

The gallery and coffee shop is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm and every evening through the year for shows.
