A COTTAGE styled garden will be open to the public this weekend to raise money for a butterfly charity.

Janet Harwood will be opening her gardens at Brock House, Halton Holegate, on Saturday between 2pm and 5pm.

Gardener Laura Pearce said: “It’s a lovely three acre garden to wander around comprising walled gardens with large herbaceous borders in a cottage garden style.”

Admission costs £3 for adults including cake and tea; children enter for free. All proceeds will go to Laura’s chosen charity, the Lincolnshire branch of Butterfly Conservation.

Butterflies are reported to have suffered a difficult summer after the cold, wet start, which has prompted Laura to host this open garden event in support.
