Children will have the chance to ride mad hatter teacups, a mini ‘big’ wheel and more during the ‘all things magical night’ set for Skegness’s Christmas line-up, organisers have announced.

As part of December 13th’s entertainment, kids can take advantage of three fun fairground rides, which will be held outside the Hildreds Shopping Centre as a way of encouraging even more festive cheer.

“Bring your families and enjoy a fantastic fun-filled evening,” said a spokesperson.

“Don’t forget there will also be wizards and magicians in town on that day too, as well as Eddy the Elf with his magic drawing board in the Hildreds.

“Staff from the shops within the Hildreds will also be dressing up in fancy dress - so there will be lots to see and do.

And things are certainly taking shape.

Deputy manager Steve Andrews and fellow Hildreds staff have been rolling up their sleeves and busily preparing the centre for Christmas.

Steve recently worked on the swirly turret tops for the Christmas Chocolate Factory Grotto. Speaking while cementing in the process, he said: “Things are coming together really well and these will form the turrets on top of the castle.”

He added the swirls were made of polystyrene and then covered in cement, which he had to make very quickly as it dried as it was pasted!

Times to book special Santa tickets have also been released,. Staff will be selling grotto tickets and booking time slots on Saturday, November 24 from 11am - 4pm and Sunday 25 from 11am - 4pm. They will also be in the centre on Thursday, November 29 from 2pm - 7pm.
