Free parking periods could be introduced at East Lindsey coastal resorts in a plan put forward by the district council.
Two hour free parking at one car park in each resort is being proposed alongside plans to errect security barriers at foreshore car parks in Skegness.
A three month consultation will take place before the amendments to the car parking order can be made. A statutory notice will be placed in newspapers shortly and views can be submitted on the proposed changes to email@example.com
Portfolio holder for the environment, who has responsibility for car parking, Steve O’Dare, said: “Since becoming portfolio holder I have been keen to ensure that each of the coastal communities has access to a car park with a ‘free 2 hour’ tariff in line with those already in place for inland towns. As part of a number of changes to the council’s car parking order, I am proposing to introduce two hours free parking at Scarborough Avenue car park, Skegness; Marine Drive car park, Sutton on Sea; Well Vale Drive car park, Chapel St Leonards; and Park Square car park, Mablethorpe.”
