Former Mayor of Skegness gets honours degree

Former Skegness Mayor Coun Danny Brookes is celebrating after receiving an honours degree in business.

Coun Brookes received the Bachelor of Arts with Honours (open) BA (hon) in a ceremony on Thursday.

He said he was proud of his achievement, especially as much of his studying took place while he was busy attending Mayoral duties.

Swapping his chain of office for a cap and gown, he said: “it was pretty hard work studying at the same time as being Mayor but receiving the degree made it all worthwhile. It was a very special day.”

Coun Brookes will now be using his new knowledge in his businesses - a seafront refeshments kiosk and Indulgence cafe in High Street.
