The Hildreds shopping Centre in Skegness has reported a 5.5 per cent increase on footfall compared to last year’s figures.

So far this year, 266,000 extra people have been through the centre and within the last calendar 52 weeks, the centre has recorded 4.1 million visitors.

Hildreds Shopping Centre manager Steve Andrews said: “Month on month we have been up every month since last November. Sales are also up across the centre by as much as 6.1 per cent, which means we are doing really well seen as the BRC (British Retail Consortium) average for the UK shows an increase of just 0.8 per cent.”

The Hildreds has a full programme of events lined up in the lead up to Christmas.

The centre will then begin its Christmas celebrations with a ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ inspired Santa’s Grotto, complete with giant and a Snowman party in the mall outside the Cottage Loaf Restaurant with animated polar bears and ‘Frozen’ display where children can meet Olaf and have photos taken.
