Firefighters in car wash fundraisers

FIREFIGHTERS in the area have announced plans for a massive car wash fundraising event in March.

Lincolnshire firefighters will be on-hand on dates throughout March to wash people’s cars in return for a donation to the Fire Fighters Charity.

And one of the events will take place in Skegness.

“It’s for National Car Wash 2012, the charity’s largest fundraising event of the year. Firefighters across the UK will be involved and cleaning vehicles for whatever money people can spare,” said a spokesperson.

“Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue has had a successful track record running the event, raising more than £6,500 last year.

“We hope to do even better this year with your help.”

The car wash in Skegness will take place at Tesco in Richmond Drive on Saturday, March 31 from 10am to 4pm.

Other car wash fundraisers are also planned for the likes of Market Rasen, Lincoln, Grantham, Leverton and Gainsborough.

Money raised at the events will be going to the Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support and therapy to injured firefighters and their families.
