FIRE engines from no fewer than four separate towns were called to a fire at a barn in Partney last night (Monday).

At around 6.20pm, fire crews from Spilsby and Alford were called to a blaze at an agricultural building in Harding’s Lane.

On arrival they requested further resources from Wainfleet and Skegness for help in tackling the fire.

Five main jets, two hose-reels and light portable pumps were used to extinguish the blaze.

The single-storey building, which measured 30 metres by 20 metres, suffered severe damage.

The cause of the fire was still to be determined at the time of the last update on Tuesday morning.
