One of the East Coast’s major family theme park resorts will hold it’s Opening Season Extravaganza on Saturday (March 14).
The opening of this season’s Fantasy Island family resort on Sea Lane, Ingoldmells, near Skegness boasts a full day and evening of entertainment for all ages.
Wristbands will be on sale for just £5, where thrill-seekers can ride all day from 11am on the major white knuckle rides at the theme park, including the Jubilee Odyssey, the third tallest coaster in the UK, the 150 foot tall Millenium Rollercoaster, Volcano Impact, a 200 foot tall space shot and Amazing Confusion, the world’s first Mondial Ultra Max; a frisbee ride which turns you upside-down and will leave your head spinning.
There are far more smaller rides inside the resort for those who enjoy a smoother ride, or just wish to browse Europe’s largest permanent seven-day market.
The event, in association with the UK Firework Company, Dereks Cycles, Workwear ID and Skegness’ New Era Gym will start at 10am, where all park staff will be present for a full staff photo and officials from the park declare this year’s season officially open.
Rides will open from 11am.
Ryan Smith and representatives from the Ryan Smith Foundation will be present on the day to highlight the work of the foundation and Team Smith’s involvement in cylce safety, along with special guest and now local celebrity. Ryan Smith.
The Ryan Smith Foundation has been chosen as the resorts charity of the year and will launch their ‘Ride for Ryan’ fund and various events will be happening during the day and evening to support this; such as a cycle competition on the Lagoon Stage, run by New Era Gym from 12pm.
Throughout the day, there will be plenty of live entertainment on offer all over the resort, both on the outdoor and indoor stages and Scallywags Showbar, with free prize draws and giveaways for the event.
Entertainment will be provided on the outdoor stage from 4-6pm and a presentation made by New Era Gym at 4.30pm.
Raffle prizes will be drawn by Ryan Smith at 6pm also on the outdoor stage.
A countdown and spectacular firework display will commence from 7pm to celebrate the opening season, before the park closes at 7pm.
