Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells has been put up for sale with debts totalling £53.3 million.
The theme park, which has attracted up to 40,000 visitors a day during the summer season, went into administration in August last year. Permanent and seasonal staff were told there would be no job losses while the company’s financial position was reviewed.
Interested parties were informed of the sale in a letter from administrator Benjamin Wiles, of London-based Duff and Phelps. He was unable to give a time frame for the sale.
Companies include Fantasy Island Ingoldmells Limited, Condult Skegness Limited and Intermarket Skegness Limited. Licence agreement entered into with any of the companies are expected to remain in force for the next year and will be accounted for as part of the transaction.
