A family fun day is to be held in Skegness today (Saturday) in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care.
The event will take place at the Crown Hotel, in Drummond Road, from 2pm to 5pm.
It is being organised by Skegness husband-and-wife Barry and Pam Ormrod. The couple have lost a number of family members to cancer, including their fathers, and currently have a close friend battling the disease.
Barry said: “We’ve heard lots of good reports about Macmillan and how they do wonderful work, both in research and how they help people, by helping those with cancer or supporting relatives of those who have cancer. As well as that, all the money raised for them, stays within Lincolnshire.”
There will be a range of attractions on the day, including a performance by Skegness dance school Top Limitz, a bouncy castle, Disney superhero and Minions characters, a tombola, games and a raffle with a ticket to see a celebrity special version of The Chase being among the prizes.
There is also an auction of celebrity autographed photographs, a range of stalls and food and drink. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service will be on site with one of its appliances for children to see.
