Go-ahead for 17.7 metre micro wind turbines next to Skegness Stadium

The go-ahead has been given for three wind micro-turbines on a site next to Skegness Stadium.

Despite objections from both Addlethorpe and Orby parish councils, who feared an adverse visual impact on the countryside, East Lindsey planners granted planning consent for the turbines which will stand 17.7 metres high.

Doubting there would be a detrimental effect, Coun Dick Edginton noted that most of the area’s existing structures - including the stadium, pylons and a grain depot - were man-made.

“They provide a third dimension to what is a two-dimensional landscape,” he commented.
