SPILSBY Flower Club members were treated to a feast of festive Christmas-themed arrangments at their meeting last week.
Derby-based national demonstrator Ian Buxton demonstrated his Floral Festvities at the Christmas-themed event.
“With humour and wit, which was enjoyed by all, six arrangements were created,” said a spokesperson. “Extra arrangments were added to compliment them,
“The containers were different shapes, which enabled large bauble to be hung from them.”
The greenery was varied and included choisya, elaeagnus, cotoneaster, begonia, conifer, asparague fern, variegated holly palms and cupressus.
Leaves of aspidistra and palms were sprayed gold, which gave some added Christmas glitter to proceedings.,
Flowers of roses, carnations, amaryllis, gerbera and orchids completed the theme, alongside accessories of cones and sparkly sticks.
Away from the floral arrangements the members also enjoyed some Christmas carols.
Competition results were:-
Merry Christmas - 1, Margaret Pisarska; 2, Maureen Dale; 3, Cassie Henderson; highly commended, Mary Snowden; Parcels - 1, Edina Matthewman; 2, Jane Dinsdale; 3, Joy Gorham.
The Spilsby Flower Club is now off for its winter recess and won’t return until February 28, when it will host its ‘Members’ Night’.
