THE FINISHING touches are being made ahead of the annual Revesby Country Fair this weekend.

This year’s ever-popular event will take place on Sunday, August 5 from 8.30am.

And organisers are promising a day chock full of fun for all the family.

No fewer than 250 trade stands from all over the country will be present - and other attractions will include jousting, horse-back archery, show-jumping, stunts and much more.

“Come and join us for the great country day out for all the family with loads of things to see and do,” said a spokesperson.

“Ours is the largest local one day show in the region and we are in a wonderful parkland setting with easy access and parking.

“Around 250 tradestands from all over the country will be present, selling and displaying everything for the family, including a variety of quality food stalls.

“We have 10 rings. The main ring is action packed from 9.30am until we finish with our terrier racing ‘Revesby Style’ at around 5pm.

“Events include the spectacular Stampede stunt company, with their amazing display of jousting and horse back archery; the Paws for Thought dog display team who have performed at Crufts and travel all the way from Monmouthshire to be with us; and Ridgeside Falconry, the largest mobile display in the country.

“We also have other exciting activities including a chainsaw carving demonstration and mounted fancy dress to name but a few.

“Other attractions include numerous horse rings, from dressage to show-jumping, shire horses and gymkhana.

“Leave time to explore and enjoy the poultry tent, the ferret show, flower tent, the vintage cars, old tractors and oil engines, the funfair and our new countryside discovery area. There will also be clay pigeon shooting.”

“Also don’t forget to bring your dog and take part in the numerous dog rings, and the open gundog scurry,” they added.

Entry to the fair costs just £25 per car, which includes all occupants. For all details and tickets look at the website -
