Members of the Rotary Club of Skegness and The Rotary District Governor Robin Mason visited three local primary schools last week to present them with their Rotakids Charters.
The morning began at Friskney where Head Teacher Mr Borrell and the School Council received the Charter certificate and two cheques. This was followed by a visit to The Richmond School where Mrs Fisher and the School council, Head Boy and Head Girl received their Charter and cheques and finally onto to Burgh le Marsh where the Head Teacher Miss Smith and the School Council joined in the presentation and received their Charter and cheques.
This was a special day for the Skegness rotarians as they were also accompanied by Rotarian Geoff Peterson (grants officer) who had helped them secure a District Simplified Grant to support Rotakids activities - and he came to see the valuable work being done by the schools.
Rotarians Carole Cameron, Tony Tye and Lucy Hawley, who are the support Rotarians working with the Rotakids clubs, were there to set each school the challenge of raising money for their chosen charities. Each Rotakids club was given a baking kit and £100 as a starter for their fundraising activities.
