Halton Holegate Primary School pupils enjoyed a talk and presentation from local teacher and weather enthusiast Wendy Reid last week.

Miss Reid (pictured during her talk) spoke to the children about a number of topics which will give them a head start in this term’s weather project.

“She gave the school a rain gauge before showing some of the technology used to measure wind speed and direction, as well as a fascinating slide show about the different types of clouds,” said the primary school’s head teacher Damian Sunter.

“The children were then given their own information sheet so that, when the weather is less inclement, they can become cloud spotters themselves,” added Mr Sunter.
