Guests gathered for the official opening of Skegness Academy recently.
The ceremony at the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust site included a tour and address by Barry Day OBE, chief executive of the trust.
There was also a flypast at around 10.50am by a King Air 200 from No 45 (R) Squadron based at RAF Cranwell, which flew over the Academy at en route back to Cranwell.
Approximately £19 million has been invested at the Skegness Academy which has provided ‘exceptional resources for pupils’, including a 230 seat performance hall.
Construction started in 2011 - work was undertaken in three phases and was finally completed in August.
