THE winners for this year’s Lincolnshire Young People’s Book Awards have been revealed.
The ‘Best Reads’ of 2012, as voted for by children across the county, are Linda Chapman with Loving Spirit from the nine to 11-year-olds category, and Tim Collins with Diary of a Wimpy Vampire from the 12 to 14-year-olds category.
The awards are designed to encourage children and young people to read and use their local libraries, where the books are available.
Those taking part find their reading and writing skills benefit greatly and they also have the fun of reading some excellent books too.
Coun Patricia Bradwell, Executive Member for Children’s Services, said: “The awards are a great way to encouraging young people to take a pleasure in reading and help them develop debating skills and an appreciation of stories.”
