DROUGHT resistant flowers are to be planted in Skegness to mitigate against the recent dry weather which has prompted a hosepipe ban.

Skegness Town Council agreed to use species of plants that require less watering in its flower beds on Castleton Boulevard and Lumley Road hanging baskets at a meeting on Wednesday.

Coun Sue Binch suggested fuschias and geraniums.
